So I’m a little bit enamored with ( google search stories. )

Especially ( this batman one. )

Of course, I’m supposed to be writing a research report, but that’s neither here nor there.

There was no snow on the ground when I got up this morning, and there’s no snow on the ground now.

But there was this one point about mid afternoon when there was just enough snow out there for about a hundred university students to sled down the hills using cardboard boxes, moving container tops, laundry baskets, wave boards, skateboards with the wheels taken off, trash cans, and a plastic kayak.

And it was a magical, wonderful time.

I heard one of the cutest quotes about marriage in one of my psych classes today. We were discussing gender roles and marriages, and the proff was talking about how he and his wife of several decades are equal partners and how that’s part of their success. This kid in the front goes So you mean you wear the pants but she picks them out and he goes it’s more like I wear the pants and she’s the suspenders that hold them up.

Also, remember that statistics test I was going crazy over? I got a B. Which, when you consider that I got D’s on the other two tests and actually failed the lab midterm, totally justified the small victory dance I did in my seat when I got the test back.

Later this evening, I was sitting at the computer with a towel wrapped around my hair, and I noticed something moving in my hair. I made a very undignified squealing noise and threw the towel to the floor, which caused the moving thing to fall into my lap and get lost among the folds of my pj pants for a few minutes until I could squish it.

Turned out to be a silver fish, another of which Le found in her laundry basket just a moment or so ago. Which means we have new friends.

***looks at clock and realizes it’s close to 2 in the morning****

Ok, I think it’s time to admit I’m not going to get any more done on this paper and call it a night.

You know you live in the south when on the way to your grandmother’s house you have to stop and let a group on horseback cross the road. Especially if more then one of these men have beer and the group is accompanied by someone on a four wheeler.

Also, I saw a deer on the side of the road. It was awesome, because I’m that person who never sees deer on the roadside.

Also, geocities shuts down today. To commemorate the event, (xkcd) has redesigned their site to give it the look of a classic geo-cities site. Seeing it really takes me back to my early fandom days, where I sat there late at night reading overly angsty gundam wing yaoi fic written in bright blue/purple Comic Sans on a background of blinking stars/animated roses/ect.

**sighs**
Those were the days. Thank the Gods they’re over.

The world is getting weirder. Darker every single day. Things are spinning around faster and faster, and threatening to go completely awry. Falcons and falconers. The center cannot hold.

But in my corner of the country, I’m trying to nail things down. I don’t want to live in a world where the strong rule and the weak cower. I’d rather make a place where things are a little quieter. Where trolls stay the hell under their bridges and where elves don’t come swooping out to snatch children from their cradles. Where vampires respect the limits, and where faeries mind their p’s and q’s.

My name is Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden. Conjure by it at your own risk. When things get strange, when what goes bump in the night flicks on the lights, when no one else can help you, give me a call.

I’m in the book.

From Jim Butcher’s Storm Front.

So definitely adding a new series to my list of things to read. Not that I really need another series, but that’s never really stopped me before.
